Authorities take 5 people into custody on drug charges

On May 22, Florida law enforcement took five people into custody after they were accused of being in possession of marijuana and cocaine. Deputies with the Hendry Sheriff's Office claimed that the five individuals, aged between 18 and 26, were also found to be in possession of firearms and drug money in addition to the drugs.

4 face drug charges after apartment search

Police in Jacksonville were called to the scene of what was thought to be a burglary at Maverick Trails Apartment Homes. When authorities arrived, they realized that there was no such event taking place, but what they found resulted in four people facing criminal charges. Upon approaching the apartment, officers realized that there was a strong scent of marijuana coming from an apartment, and there was marijuana in plain view, which triggered a search of the apartment. The search resulted in the discovery of marijuana and other substances.

Bathroom break leads to drug charges for Florida woman

An overly long visit to a convenience store restroom led to felony drug trafficking charges for a Florida woman on April 29 according to a report from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff' Office. The 22-year-old Gulf Breeze resident has been charged with first-degree felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and heroin and five third-degree misdemeanor counts of drug possession.

Red light stop in Florida leads to marijuana seizure

Police in Florida say that a routine traffic stop in Okaloosa County on April 24 led to the seizure of more than 300 grams of marijuana. A 19-year-old Crestview man has been taken into custody in connection with the narcotics haul. He has been charged with drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing drug paraphernalia. A records check is said to have revealed that the man also has an outstanding warrant for the lewd and lascivious battery of a minor.
